The Ram 1500 will also be offered in an electric version

After unveiling the first images of a first electric SUV a few days ago, Stellantis confirms that its popular full-size pickup truck, the Ram 1500, will also soon be marketed in a battery-electric version. The manufacturer also intends to involve model enthusiasts in the development process.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares recently held a virtual presentation in which he revealed the group’s strategic plan. We learned that the manufacturer was preparing to market its first electric SUV with supporting images; this time, we are confirmed that the Ram 1500 will also have its fully electric version. The manufacturer has also published the first two images of the model in order to make our mouths water and show us the features of the future model.

The model will therefore compete with the Ford Lightning which should be marketed this year and the Chevrolet Silverado whose official images and the date of arrival have still not been officially unveiled. According to the CEO of Stellantis, the Ram 1500 EV will go on sale in 2024 and should feature a marriage of never-before-seen performance technologies.

Stellantis said it wants 50% of its sales to come from electric vehicles by 2030. A good way to achieve this goal is certainly to electrify its Ram 1500 pickup truck, a model that represents the largest percentage of the manufacturer’s sales year after year. The manufacturer hopes to offer no less than 75 electric models in the long term and sell 5 million copies annually.

The arrival of the electric Ram 1500 is part of the Ram Revolution strategy, a program that will allow Ram fans to participate in the development of the vehicle by sharing their needs and ideas. Through this collaborative work, Ram hopes to ensure that the vehicle will meet the needs and desires of buyers. A website has also been developed to ensure dialogue between customers and the manufacturer.
