Lucid Motors: Toronto welcomes its first studio

Lucid Motors, this young Californian manufacturer that markets high-end electric cars, is slowly but surely establishing itself on Canadian soil. The company first opened a first studio-style store in downtown Vancouver and then opened a service center nearby. Toronto is now entering the game, as the manufacturer sets foot in the largest Canadian metropolis with a store located in the largest shopping center in the country, the “Yorkdale Shopping Centre”.

These shops aim to offer a whole new purchasing process to the customer: as Polestar or Tesla already do, most of the purchasing process is done online through the company’s website. Thus, the main purpose of the physical space is to provide a customer experience that has nothing to do with the traditional experience of a car dealership; lounge area or virtual reality experience are waiting for you.

Studio-type spaces thus offer consumers the opportunity to observe certain versions of the Air (the brand’s only model) in person rather than virtually, in addition to allowing them to visualize the many options available for the vehicle. Toronto will also see its own service center open in the coming months to serve customers in the region during mechanical maintenance. Then, at the same time Lucid confirmed the opening of its Toronto studio, the manufacturer said that the first Canadian deliveries of the Air model would begin during the spring of 2022.

Moreover, RPM has obtained confirmation from the company responsible for the construction of these studios and service centers for Canada that a service center will open its doors in Montreal towards the end of the current year, or later in early 2023. Thus, with the studio which is already under construction, the addition of a service center will offer Montreal customers a very interesting set of services.

Remember that in its current catalog, Lucid only offers one model, the Lucid Air. This mid-size luxury sedan, which certainly recalls Tesla’s Model S in places, is available in 4 versions. The most expensive version, the Lucid Air Dream Edition, offers a maximum range of 837 kilometers in addition to a 933 horsepower engine. Another option group is available for this version, offering 1,111 horsepower, but a maximum range of 758 kilometers. Other less well-stocked versions are also available at a lower price, but still offer very competitive autonomy and performance on paper.
