Rhinoplasty for the 2023 Nissan Versa

The Nissan Versa enters a new era with some modifications for 2023. We are talking about aesthetics and adjustments in terms of equipment. Nothing too serious, but enough to keep this subcompact very interesting.

There is no revolution with the aesthetic changes of the Versa 2023. On the other hand, we are witnessing the unprecedented introduction of a new approach to Nissan’s V-motion grille. We still find the spirit of the two oblique bands that frame the grid, but this time the bands are segmented into horizontal slats. It’s pretty amazing, after all, that Nissan is giving the base model Versa the exclusivity of introducing a new design language, while the Altima is also receiving changes for 2023. All the action happens at the before. On the rest of the body, we will see new rims of 16 and 17 inches depending on the version.

In the cabin, we focus on the multimedia system. The standard 7-inch screen is carried over, but the SR version, at the top of the range, will be entitled to an inch more. In particular, you have to upgrade to the mid-range SV version to be entitled to the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Always in the perspective of connectivity, we discover an induction charger and a new layout of the console. The latter incorporates a new USBC socket. For 2023, all Versas will receive a 60/40 split-bench seatback. Previously, you had to go to SV and SR to enjoy it.

Technically, the Versa remains unchanged. Its powertrain is still the 1.6-litre 4-cylinder that develops 122 horsepower and produces 114 lb-ft of torque. The base version benefits from a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the SV and SR offer the CVT Xtronic. In all cases, reliability is at the rendezvous.

Conclusion

Affordable cars are increasingly rare. It is interesting to note that Nissan continues to offer the Versa on the Canadian market, even if sales are rather below expectations. In addition, it is a good choice, because reliability is at the rendezvous. Unfortunately, we won’t hide the fact that this sedan is very likely not to be renewed once its generation cycle is complete. Too bad, because she’s better than ever.
