Among subcompact crossovers, the Chevrolet Trax has never really been a threat to the significantly more refined Asian players. The bow-tie brand now wants to make the product much more attractive for the 2024 model year.
So here’s the riposte taking on a much more modern form that parallels the Blazer stylistically. This new Trax is also 28 cm longer and 5 cm wider than its predecessor, which increases interior space. The passenger compartment also benefits from the remodeling with a greatly improved presentation.
Mechanically, a small 1.2L three-cylinder comes to the task alone, producing a measly total of 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. It is modulated by a six-speed automatic transmission.
With the presence of the TrailBlazer, however, we can’t help but wonder about the relevance of offering two models in the same segment. On sale next spring with a starting price of $21,699.
