The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, a new video reveals more!

The rumor has been circulating for some time, there will indeed be a Chevrolet Corvette fitted with a hybrid engine, a first in the model’s 70-year history. It will be called Corvette E-Ray, and its marketing is scheduled for 2024.

It was through its social networks that GM confirmed the news. The ad was accompanied by a video that previewed the vehicle. We remember that the first images had leaked on the web at the beginning of last December, when the manufacturer had put its configurator online by mistake.

The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will therefore be officially presented as a world premiere on January 17; it will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the brand’s famous sports car.

The trailer, which bears the title After 70 years, we’re introducing one like none (after 70 years we are introducing one like no other) gives an overview of the vehicle, but it also shows that the Corvette E-Ray will offer all-wheel drive, another first for the vehicle. However, we do not know if it will have one or two electric motors. We imagine that the front cargo space will be amputated to accommodate the hybrid drivetrain and we will find out what its impact will be on the weight of the car.

The 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine, the same one that powers the base Stingray and whose power is 460 horsepower, will certainly be renewed. We can hear its rich sound from the beginning of the capsule. The video also shows the driver activating a Stealth mode, which seems to make the car completely silent. It is probably an all-electric mode, which remains to be confirmed.

Moreover, the car seems to offer little visual distinction compared to the gasoline model, except in the case of the front end. It also takes up some styling traits from the Z06.

We will have all the details in a few days, it’s an appointment on January 17th.
