Volkswagen ID.X Performance, the brand’s future electric sports sedan?
The constructor Volkswagen decided to present a concept vehicle as part of a major gathering of Volkswagen ID enthusiasts. Based on the new ID.7 which, unfortunately, is not sold in North America, the Volkswagen ID.X Performance highlights the possibilities of Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Platform (MEB) and combines sporty performance with sleek lines. elegance of a large luxury sedan. The vehicle is powered by 2 electric motors which develop a total power of 558 horsepower (411 kilowatts) and includes a boost function which adds additional power for a short period. The manufacturer lowered the vehicle and firmed the suspension in order to improve handling during more dynamic driving.
The exterior features a few design additions that highlight the car’s unique character, including the carbon front body components and rear diffuser. The 20-inch sports alloy wheels fitted with high-performance tires add to the style, as does the carbon spoiler at the rear.
On board, we find seats made of a carbon fiber shell, while red accents highlight the sporty characteristics of the concept.
