2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI, a first celebration of the end of the V8

To commemorate the end of the Dodge Challenger and Charger last year, the manufacturer introduced a host of special versions in a series of unique models grouped under the Last Call name.

Stellantis returns with the same strategy for 2024, but this time it will be to highlight the end of the V8 engine under the hood of the Durango, the last Dodge vehicle to be equipped with a Hemi engine. The Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI 2024 will be the first in a series of Last Call models that will be presented throughout the year, some as 2025 models.

The model, limited to 100 examples in Canada, 1,000 in all for North America, uses as a base the Dodge Durango SRT 392 Premium ($100,685) which includes some unique touches for the interior and exterior.

Exclusive items for the 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI include:

  • 20-inch forged SRT wheels in satin black finish;
  • SRT Brembo brakes with yellow calipers;
  • “392” fender decals in black satin vinyl with yellow accents;
  • Double honeycomb textured outer stripes with yellow trims;
  • Black exhaust tips;
  • A unique SRT interior with yellow and silver stitching;
  • A “392” SRT logo embroidered on the seat backs; seats decorated with yellow and silver stitching;
  • A leather and suede steering wheel that incorporates the SRT logo backlit in white;
  • Carbon fiber interior accents.

Four colors available

Dodge plans to offer 25 examples of each of the 4 colors offered, namely Diamond Black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray, and White Knuckle.

“As we did with the Dodge Charger and Challenger, it’s time to celebrate the HEMI V8 engine that has propelled Dodge’s dominance in the high-performance SUV segment,” said Tim Kuniskis, CEO of the Dodge brand. —Stellantis. “Special models Last Call of the Durango will launch throughout 2024, as we pay tribute to the most powerful SUV ever built. »

Production of all Dodge Durango models equipped with the HEMI V8 engine, including the 710-horsepower Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat with its 6.2-liter supercharged engine and the Dodge Durango equipped with the 5.7-liter HEMI engine, will end in the end of 2024.

Production of the 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI will begin in April, and vehicles will begin entering dealerships starting in May.

Conclusion

The strategy paid off last year in the case of the Dodge Charger and Challenger with exclusive models that sold out quickly. Some are even already collector’s items. We understand that Stellantis wants to repeat the experience with the Dodge Durango. However, the Durango does not have the value in the eyes of collectors as the brand’s two “Muscle Cars”. We will have to see if the Dodge Durango Last Call will experience the same success.
