General Motors (GM) recently announced that it had found a solution to the multiple problems affecting its Chevrolet Blazer EV and which forced its sale to stop since December. Imitating a competitor, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the electric SUV will also benefit from a price drop.
In a short statement, GM said it had “made significant software updates that will improve features and functionality.” In addition to improving stability, changes have been made to the instrumentation interface.
Journalists working for the American website Edmunds documented, among other things, in December the numerous problems affecting their Blazer EV in long-term testing. No less than 23 error codes had been diagnosed by the dealer, including communication problems with the braking control modules as well as the motors.
Moreover, GM's declaration was accompanied by a drop in the prices of the versions currently offered. The 2LT version with all-wheel drive sees its price drop by $3,000 ($60,370). The rear- and all-wheel-drive RS liveries, which are offered at the same prices, will retail at $67,370, or $6,000 less than initially. Note that all of these variants are eligible for full government subsidies.
