Nearly 7 years later, the Tesla Roadster could debut

In the automotive world, especially since the pandemic, delivery delays when it comes to ordering a new vehicle have become a reality. In some cases, these deadlines can vary between 6 months and more than a year. However, with its Roadster, Tesla will have far exceeded these deadlines. In fact, between the announcement of the vehicle in November 2017 and today, a little more than 6 years have passed. If we consider the fact thatElon Musk announced a launch towards the end of the year, this will represent 7 years of waiting.

7 years later

If there is anything we can admit, it is that those interested in the news Tesla Roadster will have had to show a lot of patience. Indeed, the electric sports coupe of 2e generation was presented for the first time in November 2017, at the same time as the Tesla Semi. Since this date, the vehicle is still waiting.

However, Elon Musk announced on the X network (formerly Twitter) that the design of the production version was complete, and that an unveiling was planned towards the end of the year. Its objective would be to begin the first deliveries during next year. We can therefore deduce that the wait is coming to an end.

Impressive performances announced

In a second publication, Elon Musk announces that the presentation which will take place at the end of the year will be impressive. The manufacturer even announces that the Tesla Roadster could be even more efficient than what was initially announced in 2017. The most recent preliminary figures announce a sprint from 0 to 97 kilometers/hour which could be completed in less than a second.

A bill that promises to be steep

As of now, the price range has not been disclosed, but we can expect a hefty bill. In fact, simply to order the car through its website, Tesla Canada requires an immediate deposit of $6,000 by credit card. Subsequently, a bank transfer of $58,000 must be made within 10 days of the initial deposit. Once the transfer is completed, the reservation is considered made.
