The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is revealed ahead of its world premiere at the New York Auto Show

While the Infiniti QX80 2025 will make its world premiere next week at the New York Auto Show, Nissan’s luxury brand has just revealed images and information on its 3-inch full-size luxury SUVe generation of its large-format luxury SUV. Initially introduced in 2004 under the name QX56, the second generation of the Infiniti QX80 had been on the market since 2010, although it still benefited from a few updates.

Despite rather timid sales, the model was greatly due for a new generation, which competes with vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade, the Lincoln Navigator, the Lexus LX and the Mercedes-Benz GLS.

Always square lines

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is, according to Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice president for Global Design, the first production model to use the new Artistry in Motion design language. The vehicle is also strongly inspired by the QX Monograph concept presented last year at Pebble Beach. The vehicle, which offers 3 rows of seats, retains its very square shapes, but the stylists have mainly modernized the front part using a double arch grille shape and new LED optical units separated into two distinct sections.

At the rear, a lighting bar made up of 300 LEDs spans the entire width and has the same style as the daytime running lights at the front. The lights feature a smoked finish, while there is a series of horizontal light bars placed underneath.

A new turbo engine

The old 5.6-liter V8 will make way for a 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine that develops 450 horsepower and produces 516 pound-feet of torque, or 50 horsepower and 102 pound-feet more than the engine of the outgoing generation. That beats the closest Japanese competitor, the Lexus LX, which notches 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet. The engine is mated to a new 9-speed automatic gearbox including selectors allowing manual gear changes. No electrified engine has yet been announced.

An electronic air suspension is available, which allows you to lower the vehicle by almost 3 inches (7.5 centimeters) when parked to make it easier to load luggage or enter passengers. In addition, the dynamic digital suspension constantly evaluates the road surface and vehicle behavior to maximize on-board comfort. The manufacturer also mentions having improved the soundproofing of the cabin.

Opulence on board

The cabin of the previous generation QX80 was already quite luxurious, it seems that the 2025 model continues in the same vein and pushes the impression of luxury even further. Highlights include ash wood trim including laser-etched metal inlays, semi-aniline leather seats with hand-finished stitching, and an ambient lighting system offered in 64 colors.

The cabin also takes on a more modern and refined appearance thanks to a new screen configuration and an infotainment system. Two 14.3-inch screens are joined together to give the impression that there is only one. One, customizable, displays the set of instruments, the other touchscreen, is used with the infotainment system, the latter using Google technology. A Klipsch Reference Premiere brand audio system is also offered and has 24 speakers with a power of 1,200 watts.

The 2025 QX80 also introduces other new technologies, such as the biometric cooling system. This technology can detect if one of the passengers in the second row is hot, so it can automatically direct cool air towards them.

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 will be offered in Canada in 3 versions. Here is the detail:

LUXURY 4WD – $104,995

SENSORY 4WD – $113,995

AUTOGRAPH 4WD – $124,995
