GM presents the 2024 Envision, new style, same mechanics
Initially marketed in China, the Buick Envision arrived in Canada in 2016 with a mission to compete in the luxury compact SUV segment. Not easy for a brand that doesn’t have all the luxury attributes of the competition! Indeed, the Envision is rather between the general brands and the most prestigious. If the vehicle achieves good success in China, it has more difficulty establishing itself in Canada.
After publishing a few photos several months ago, GM officially presents the production model of its 2024 Buick Envision intended for North America. For 2024, the model benefits from a new design which contrasts radically with the old model. We notice the new grille with, in the center, an imposing grille. The Buick emblem is clearly visible, it is positioned at the very end of the new hood.
Another element sets it apart, the new ultra-thin LED headlights, positioned in the upper portion on each side. The rear also benefits from some styling tweaks that are inspired by the Wildcat EV concept. The SR version adds a bit of sportiness with new 20-inch rims with a metallic carbon finish. The most high-end version, called Avenir, focuses a little more on luxury and refinement in its choice of trims.
A new 30-inch screen
The interior is not left out in terms of changes with a new sleek dashboard that incorporates a 30-inch ultra-wide screen. It is oriented towards the driver and can be heard over a little more than half of the dashboard. Certain portions can be personalized according to the driver’s tastes, and the system includes a range of applications. The 2024 Buick Envision’s infotainment system includes a touchscreen and Google voice assistant. A premium 9-speaker Bose audio system is also available.
As for the engine, nothing new for the 2024 Buick Envision. It benefits from the same 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which develops 228 horsepower and produces 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and active dual-clutch all-wheel drive available as standard.
The 2024 Buick Envision will arrive this summer and will be offered in 3 versions. Here are the price details for the 2024 Buick Envision in Canada:
- 2024 Buick Envision Preferred – $45,670
- 2024 Buick Envision ST – $47,870
- Buick Envision Avenir 2024 – $53,770
The base price is still a little higher than in 2023, around $4,000 more.
