The Lucid Air will have a much better range than the Tesla Model S
The young Californian automaker Lucid really wants to make a big splash with its large luxury electric sedan Air. The autonomy figures recently published by the United States Environmental Protection Agency bear witness to this.
The Air Dream Edition Range version will be able to travel up to 837 km on a charge, according to the US agency’s measurement protocol. That’s 185 km longer than the Tesla Model S Long Range. This is partly explained by the design of its body, which offers very little air resistance.
Its drag coefficient is only 0.21 cx, which is nevertheless comparable to that of the Model S. This Dream Edition will also have 933 hp in reserve, an undeniably excessive power that can be eclipsed by the Dream Edition Performance version of 1111 hp.
Production of the Lucid Air will begin this year. The brand has yet to present the model’s Canadian price range. If one relies on the American figures, however, ranging between US $ 77,400 and US $ 139,000, the Air would logically exceed CAN $ 100,000 in the production version.
