Toyota Tundra 2022: first official image

It goes without saying that the Toyota tundra new generation is long overdue. Rumors have been rife for a few years and so have the camouflaged images, but Toyota has been pretty quiet about the truck. However, after a leak led to the publication of a fuzzy, low-quality image of the final version of the full-size truck, the automaker decided to take the bull by the horns and upload the first official image. Toyota Tundra 2022.

The first official photo of the third generation of the Toyota tundra highlights a TRD Pro version, intended for off-road escapades. Beyond this version equipped with exclusive 18-inch wheels with tires Falken Wildpeak, a distinctive radiator grille and black plastic wheel arches sits a completely redesigned truck. The front is imposing, the headlights are LED and the shape of the windows is roughly reminiscent of the current Toyota Camry.

You can imagine, however, that other versions will be offered. While this one is quite temperamental, other versions with a significant amount of chrome or 20-inch wheels will obviously be offered. Note also that this copy is equipped with a red interior, which will undoubtedly be optional on this version.

Although few details have been released regarding the mechanics, rumors are that the Tundra uses a turbocharged V6 engine, presumably with a displacement of 3.5 liters as in the Lexus LS 500. The unveiling this week The engine cover bearing the “iForce MAX” badge circled in blue also suggests the arrival of a hybrid version for this model. A ten-speed automatic transmission could also be used.

Also, a change is expected in terms of rear suspension. The suspension leaves could be replaced with coil springs – as on a Ram 1500 – or even an air suspension. The more optimistic also report an independent rear suspension.
