Price increase for the Volkswagen Tiguan 2022
The Volkswagen Tiguan It is already entering its fifth year in the Canadian market and the manufacturer has made changes. In addition to an improved style and reworked equipment, the manufacturer is reworking the range of versions to better meet customer needs. For consumers, these changes mean an increase in the price of the basic version.
At first glance, this is the style of Volkswagen Tiguan that changes the most. In fact, the stylistic approach at the front of the model is now better harmonized with the rest of the manufacturer’s SUVs, such as the Taos or the Atlas 2021. We reworked the rims and the rear part slightly for a more elegant result and more refined. LED headlights and lights are standard, as are the 17-inch rims on the entry-level version.
On board, with the exception of the steering wheel which features the manufacturer’s new logo, the changes relate more to the equipment and the configuration of the screens. The instrumentation is fully digital on all versions; the less equipped versions have an 8-inch screen, which drops to 10.25 inches from the Comfortline version.
The central multimedia screen is 6.5 inches on the basic version and increases to 8 inches on the Comfortline version. The aging system interface is now replaced by the more modern MIB3 system including Car-Net wireless connectivity. Wireless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications is now available.
Four versions
Whereas previously the option of the R-Line package was offered on a few versions, it is now part of the standard equipment of the two most equipped versions. They are broken down as follows:
– Trendline, with heated seats and steering wheel, LED lighting, 17-inch wheels and blind spot monitoring, available at $ 34,945 (+1,000 $).
– Comfortline, which adds among other things 10.25-inch instrumentation, an 8-inch central screen, all driver assistance systems, electric tailgate, push-button start and dual-zone air conditioning, offered at 38 $ 745 (+1 650 $).
– Comfortline R-Line Black Edition, a new version that adds 19-inch wheels, stylish accessories that boost style, and 15-color mood lighting, available for $ 41,445.
– Highline R-Line, which adds 20-inch wheels, an illuminated grille, adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, 360 cameras and a more powerful audio system, offered at $ 44,945 (+1,000 $).
For all versions, the third row bench seat remains available at a cost of $ 800. This is the only option, apart from the panoramic roof at $ 1,500 for the Comfortline version and the choice of colors. The range is therefore simplified in comparison with the previous offer.
The Volkswagen Tiguan 2022 retains the same mechanical 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic and standard 4Motion all-wheel drive. It will arrive in concession during the month of October 2021.
