The 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 arrives this week for $ 44,995
It was this week that the first copies of the Volkswagen ID.4 2022 arrive in the country, and deliveries begin. The good news is that Quebec, which benefits from the first vehicles available, will follow British Columbia in a few weeks as well as Ontario a little later in December.
Volkswagen’s first electric SUV will be offered in two versions only. the Volkswagen ID.4 RWD Pro 2022 will come at the base price of $ 44,995, before the federal rebate of $ 5,000 and the provincial rebate of $ 8,000. The model features a single electric motor positioned on the rear axle that develops 201 horsepower and produces 229 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a one-speed automatic transmission.
As for the Volkswagen ID.4 AWD Pro ($ 49,995), it mainly stands out with its all-wheel drive and the addition of a second electric motor up front. The latter bumped up the power figures to 107 horsepower and torque to 119 pound-feet, bringing the total power of this version to 295 horsepower and the torque to 339 pound-feet. The Volkswagen ID.4 AWD Pro can also be fitted with a trailer hitch that can tow 1,227 kilograms (2,700 pounds).
Regardless of your choice, the Volkswagen ID.4 comes equipped with an 82 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, giving it a range of 400 kilometers in the case of the two-wheel drive version and 386 kilometers for the ID.4 all-wheel drive. All models sold in Canada will benefit from a heat pump that can heat the passenger compartment more efficiently in winter while preserving range.
The vehicle benefits from an on-board charger of 11 kilowatts, which allows a full recharge in just over 7 hours. On a 125 kilowatt fast charging station, you will be able to recover 80% of your range in about 38 minutes.
Only one set of options will be offered. Called the Statement package, it is priced at $ 8,000 and includes larger wheels, leatherette seats and a panoramic roof.
The first models to arrive in the country will be assembled in Germany, the Volkswagen ID.4s sold in Canada later in 2022 will be produced at the new Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee once construction is complete.
The vehicle is covered by a warranty of 4 years and 80,000 kilometers, the battery pack is also covered for a period of 8 years or 160,000 kilometers.
