Record price for the first 2023 Corvette Z06

Rick Hendrick is clearly a Corvette enthusiast. After paying US$3 million for the first mid-engine C8 Corvette, he’s adding more by being the first-ever purchaser. 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

As expected, the first evolution of the Corvette C8, the Z06, went under the hammer of the Barrett-Jackson auction house in Scottsdale, Arizona. Considering the excitement caused by the new generation of the Corvette, it is not surprising that it reached a record price. While the first 2020 Corvette C8 sold for US$3 million two years ago, almost to the day, the Z06 tops it with a $3.6 million bill.

Second most expensive

This Corvette is now the second most expensive in history behind a 1967 L88 coupe that sold in 2014 for $3.85 million. In particular, it was millionaire Rick Hendrick who acquired the 2020 Corvette Stingray as well as the 2023 Corvette Z06 which will come with the appearance package marking the 70th anniversary of the Corvette.

For a good cause

Proceeds from the sale will go to the American organization Operation Homefront, which helps military families in difficulty for various reasons. The organization’s representative, John I. Pray Jr, cannot hide his joy: “We are deeply grateful to Chevrolet and Barrett-Jackson for choosing Operation Homefront as the beneficiary of this auction.
