2023 Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate: Farewell to Style and Power
L’Aston Martin DBS is possibly one of the most beautiful cars on the market, but like all good things come to an end, it comes to the end of its road after only 5 years on the market. To mark the event, Aston Martin is giving it special treatment with the 770 Ultimate.
This is not the first special edition of the DBS. We already count on the 59, Concorde and, even, the exclusive GT Zagato, in particular. With the 770 Ultimate, the aesthetic changes are minor, we do not want to change the character of the car. We propose a bonnet with a more imposing “horseshoe”, a spoiler on the front bumper which takes on volume as well as a rear diffuser where we still find the 4 exhaust pipes. We also add some carbon fiber accents all over the body. However, it is the 21-inch wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero 265/35R21 and 305/30R21, almost identical to the “One off” Victor 2020, that steal the show. If that’s not enough, buyers will be able to go through the Q customization workshops and make their DBS 770 Ultimate a la carte.
When the door is opened, we discover a numbered plate to ensure the exclusivity of the car. For the rest, we observe a certain reserve. The focal point is the addition of a leather strip on the center armrest along with another commemorative plaque. The seats are made almost entirely of carbon fiber with semi-aniline leather and Alcantara upholstery. For those who want even more dynamic seating, it will be possible to select performance seats as an option. Just like the exterior, Q can be invited for customization.
770 PS/760 horsepower
There is no revolution under the hood of the 770 Ultimate. We still find the 5.2-liter V12, but it develops more power. By modifying the air intake and the ignition, we gained 45 horsepower. This is the most powerful version of this V12 to date. It continues to produce some 664 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. Aston Martin maintains its partnership with ZF for the design of the standard 8-speed gearbox.
In order to increase driving pleasure, the manufacturer offers a host of additional settings, including steering and shock absorbers with new programming of the ADS system. The high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes have an impressive size: 16 inches in the front and 14.2 inches in the rear. Despite its improvements, the DBS 770 Ultimate maintains the same top speed of 340 kilometers per hour as the other DBS.
No need to run to the dealership to make a deposit, the 499 copies planned have all been sold. There will be 300 DBS coupés and 199 Volante convertibles. Of course, the price list is not known.
