By press release, BMW Canada announced today that a special edition of the coupé M440i xDrive 2023 will be added to its range in the coming weeks. Indeed, it is an M performance edition exclusive to the Canadian market and will only be produced in 100 copies. The goal is to celebrate 50 years of the M performance division in the country.
Rare are the editions exclusive to the Canadian market. Normally we follow the US market for vehicle availability. Moreover, when a manufacturer arrives with a model built in limited quantities – the BMW M4 CSL, in particular – the Canadian market does not usually receive many copies.
Unique color schemes
BMW has therefore thought of us for this special edition of the 4 Series coupe. These 100 models will be offered in five unique color schemes pre-selected by BMW Canada through the catalog BMW Individual Manufacture. Each color scheme will be produced in 20 copies. Here they are :
- Voodo blue exterior and dark gray rims on black merino leather;
- Metallic velvet blue exterior and dark gray rims on black merino leather;
- Metallic Rossa Corsa exterior and matte black rims on black merino leather;
- Irish Green exterior and Ferrous Gray rims over Tartufo Merino Leather;
- Metallic Grigio Telesto exterior and matt black rims on fjord blue and black merino leather.
Some additional accessories
The M Performance Edition doesn’t just stop at the color of the body, rims and interior. These models will come standard with the Advanced Luxury Package, Professional Digital Cockpit, Inductive Wireless Charging, Carbon Fiber Interior Trim, 50 Years of BMW M badges and the M technology. This package includes beefier brake discs (26 millimeters larger) as well as a more efficient engine oil cooler. The manufacturer’s laser headlights (BMW Laserlight) are optional.
BMW Canada took the opportunity to add a few aesthetic and technical elements. These include 20-inch M performance rims of the type 795M, an M performance exhaust system, a front spoiler, a spoiler and a grille surround in carbon fiber as well as a black M performance emblem.
The same technical characteristics
Technically, it’s the same mechanics as a regular M440i xDrive. These special editions will therefore be powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 with 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Combined with all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, this sports coupe completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
According to BMW Canada, at the time of this writing, this limited-edition M440i xDrive can be ordered through a Canadian dealership for a starting price of $89,950, excluding freight and delivery charges. It is clear that this model will quickly become sought after by enthusiasts of BMW products due to its rarity.
