L’Audi RS 6 Avant makes more than one dream. This is the ultimate family car. It combines style, practicality and performance with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine under its hood that develops 621 horsepower and produces 627 pound-feet of torque. We had the chance to attend the launch of the new 2024 Audi RS 6 Performance last June; this is a car that impresses with its overall characteristics.
Now the manufacturer has just unveiled a unique edition of the model, it is the Audi RS 6 Avant GT, it is positioned at the top of the range and includes several features and includes several exclusive equipment both inside and outside.
From the RS 6 GTO concept
The idea for such a car dates back to the RS 6 GT0 concept from 2020, when students worked on the concept vehicle as part of a school project and under the supervision of Audi Design. The latter drew their inspiration from a racing car, the 1989 Audi quattro IMSA GTO.
In terms of style, the car offers a reworked front end with a slightly more dynamic design. There is a new intake grille, while the air intakes are finished in gloss black, which provides a lower and wider appearance. The hood is completely redesigned, uses carbon fiber and is therefore lighter. Same thing for the oversized wheel arches which reveal the 22-inch 6-spoke wheels designed specifically for the model.
A first in the history of the RS 6
At the rear, the special edition is distinguished by black RS 6 GT lettering, a specially designed tailgate, a functional diffuser with a reflector in the center and a distinctive motorsport-inspired twin spoiler. The latter has almost the same design as that imagined by the students at the time. For the first time in the history of the RS 6 Avant, the roof bars have been removed for an even lower and sportier silhouette. Five body colors are available, the design is supported by different “wrap” vehicle claddings to complete the layout.
The black interior is enhanced by numerous exclusive red and copper color accents. The sports bucket seats are exclusive and feature the embroidered RS 6 GT designation. The seat belts also attract attention with their red color, and a plaque on the center console shows the car’s serial number.
Under the hood, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT benefits from the mechanics of the RS 6 Performance. Its engine develops a power of 620 horsepower. The 627 pound-feet of torque is sent to the 4 wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Ultra exclusive, seven vehicles for Canada only
The 2025 Audi RS 6 Avant GT will be a highly exclusive car, only 660 examples will be built, and of the lot, only seven will be sold in Canada. The Audi RS 6 Avant GT is not fully assembled on the production line in Neckarsulm, unlike the standard RS 6 Avant. Once the vehicle base is assembled, all 660 models are sent to Böllinger Höfe, where the Audi R8, Audi e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT are manufactured in small series production. Final assembly is carried out by 7 experienced employees at three assembly stations specially designed for this exclusive special edition. Each vehicle spends an entire day in this facility.
