2024 Ford Mustang: Pierre Michaud takes the wheel this weekend and Hennessey is having a blast with the Dark Horse

There Ford-Mustang has been a love affair for decades, and few vehicles have generated as much interest among enthusiasts year after year. Engaged in a battle with its eternal rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, the Ford Mustang has almost always had the best in terms of sales. The recipe for its success has always been the same, excellent performance for its price and, above all, the wide variety of versions offered, including the most exclusive.

A first contact with the Ford Mustang 2024

While the 7e generation is already upon us, Pierre Michaud will have the chance to test drive the new 2024 Ford Mustang this weekend during its official launch. This is an event that the host of the RPM and RPM+ programs wanted to attend, he who had the opportunity to discover several generations of the car during his career. Watch for his full impressions of the car next week.

The 2024 Ford Mustang was unveiled last year at the Detroit Auto Show. We know that the 2 well-known engines will be back, the 2.3-litre 4-cylinder and the 5-litre V8. It still offers a design inspired by the past, especially the generation of the 60s, but the main touch of modernism of this generation is found in its much more technological interior.

An 850 horsepower Hennessey version

While the car is about to enter the dealership, several preparers were quick to offer supercharged versions. This is the case of the Texas company Hennessey. Renowned for the transformation of vehicles, it did not take long to present the first sketches of a Ford Mustang Dark Horse H850 whose naturally aspirated 5-litre Coyote V8 engine develops an impressive 850 horsepower and produces 650 lb-ft of torque, which represents a 70% increase in power compared to the 500 horsepower advertised for the production car. It will be offered with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic.

According to Hennessey, the package offered is a turnkey solution for those who want to significantly increase engine power while improving the appearance of the latest iteration of this iconic American car.

Conclusion

Despite declining sales year after year, the Ford Mustang remains a car that leaves no one indifferent. We could certainly do without the 4-cylinder engine versions, but the model remains an object of desire for many consumers, especially in the convertible version, which is one of the few vehicles available on the market today that allows you to take advantage of driving a car in the wind.
