A new series on NASCAR is coming to Netflix

Television series about the world of car racing are gaining popularity. After the dazzling success of “Drive to Survive”, the documentary series dealing with Formula 1, now the NASCAR will be entitled to its own show on the listening platform Netflix. Titled “Full Speed“, the show will allow viewers to follow the journey of several professional drivers and discover behind the scenes of this motor sport, very famous in the United States.

A guaranteed dose of adrenaline

The series will be divided into 5 parts. Produced by Dale Earnhardt Jr, this series promises to be intense and offer thrills. We will be able to follow, in 45-minute episodes, the adventures of nine drivers who participate in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. The full cast of drivers includes Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano and Tyler Reddick, all in the race for the drivers’ championship.

Netflix explains that the episodes have already been filmed, and that the show will premiere on January 30 on the platform. A one-minute trailer has just been released and confirms the intensity that the series will promise.

A second Netflix series for NASCAR

This is not the first time that NASCAR has participated in a television series on Netflix. Indeed, the series “RACE: Bubba Wallace” is already broadcast on the platform. It highlights the exploits of professional NASCAR driver Darrell “Bubba” Wallace in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The latter is also the only black man in the sport.

NASCAR’s second test is intended as a form of retaliation to the Formula 1 series “Drive to Survive”. The latter, widely criticized for being too Hollywood and not precise enough on the details of the race, nevertheless enjoyed worldwide success. It was recently renewed for a 6e season and maintains a fairly dazzling popularity rating with 94% approval from the public.
