Acura | An electrical multisegment named… RSX

The Japanese brand Acura has announced its intention to revive the RSX appellation to name a brand new electrical multiserment of its vintage.

The decision has something to make the fans of the Japanese brand blinked, because the RSX was notoriously the descendant of the Integra from its production in 2001 until its departure, in 2006. We are here rather far from a Sports compact cut, you will agree.

In a brief press release, Acura Canada's deputy vice-president James Marchand justified this decision by saying that it is “a tribute to his past”. This is part of a name strategy that calls on a certain nostalgia, starting with the Integra income in 2022 and, to a lesser extent, the ZDX relaunched in 2024.

The RSX, whose design is inspired by the Acura Performance EV style study, will be Acura's first electrical model to have a platform designed internally by Honda. Its production is scheduled for later this year.
