Lack of space is often a problem when it comes to activities that take us to remote trails. There is a lack of space for the tent, camping accessories, sports equipment, the list is as varied as the number of individuals. Despite the addition of a 4-door version of the Wrangler and, even, of the van Gladiator there may always be a lack of space, and Jeep found a solution by doing business with Addax.
The two companies announce, during the SEMA show in Las Vegas, a partnership for the design and manufacture of a small trailer designed specifically for Jeep. Small in size to maintain off-road maneuverability, it measures only 1.5 by 1.8 meters. Moreover, despite the use of military-grade steel, it weighs only 386 kilos (849 pounds). Practical, it can also accommodate 991 liters of accessories. In addition, it is possible to use the outer walls with additional anchors. On the top, by adding stringers, it will be possible to have additional storage with boxes or even a tent.
As such, to maintain great stability, there are jacks at the 4 corners that can immobilize the trailer. Additionally, the hand is retractable for easy mobility around when stationary. For good abilities in difficult trails, the trailer comes with an independent torsion beam, which allows it to have a ground clearance of 17 inches. When it comes to durability, the housing is made from 14-gauge military-grade steel, folded, not welded, for added strength. The frame is also 3/16 inch thick steel.
For Jeep and Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep North America, this is an important milestone for his enthusiasts: “Together with the team at Addax, we are very pleased to announce the launch of the trailer the most innovative on the planet. The Jeep-labeled trailer can truly follow a Trail-Rated Jeep anywhere and demonstrate our commitment to the community as the gold standard for performance overlanding. Thanks to the Jeep branded Edition trailer, adventurers can now enjoy the most beautiful and secluded places on Earth.”
