Alfa Romeo is 100 years old: a special edition of the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio and a presence at the Montreal Grand-Prix
Alfa Romeo, the Italian brand of the Stellantis group, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. To mark its centenary, the manufacturer is introducing a 100 versione anniversary of its luxury sedan, the Giulia Quadrifoglioand its luxury compact SUV, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
Building on the production models, both vehicles benefit from an increase in power and performance, changes to the gearbox and a series of interior and exterior design additions that help reflect the status of these special editions. It should be noted, however, that Alfa Romeo will only produce 100 copies of each model, and the brand has announced that they have all already been sold.
100 years ago, Alfa Romeo’s four-leaf clover made its Targa Florio debut with the RL Corsa. These new limited editions feature numerous commemorative nods, including gold Quadrifoglio “1923 – 2023” badges on the front fenders. The Giulia Quadrifoglio 100e anniversary benefits from a new mechanical limited-slip differential; it is associated with a supercharged V6 engine of 505 horsepower, which is 10 horsepower more than the regular delivery. Torque from the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 remains the same at 442 lb-ft.
Inside, there is black leather and alcantara upholstery enhanced by unique gold stitching. We find some emblems 100 th
Anniversario and a new carbon fiber finish for the dashboard, transmission tunnel and door panels.
On the outside, each copy will be equipped with new adaptive Matrix LED headlights, Quadrifoglio characteristic five-hole rims (19 inches for the Giulia and 21 inches for the Stelvio), gold brake calipers, a system Akrapovič exhaust and exposed carbon fiber finishers for the grille and mirror caps. Buyers will be able to choose from three color options: Rosso Etna, Verde Montreal and Nero Vulcano.
The prices are:
- Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100e Anniversary – $101,490
- Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100e Anniversary – $109,690
A stint at the 2023 Montreal Grand Prix
The manufacturer is also taking advantage of its visit to the 2023 Montreal Grand Prix to celebrate the whole thing. Part of the engine cover of the C43 racing car driven by Valteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu is adorned with the famous four-leaf clover created by the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo.
According to the manufacturer, the Quadrifoglio represents a constant quest for excellence in motorsport, then transferred to production cars. This symbol has marked Alfa Romeo’s most successful creations since April 15, 1923.
Conclusion
Alfa Romeo vehicles appeal to heart and passion much more than logic. Few models provide a drive as dynamic and extreme as the Quadrifoglio liveries, but this choice is made at the expense of reliability for owners.
