An Acura NSX Type S is on the way

THE’Acura NSX is already at the end of its life cycle. Indeed, it will be in 2022 that the manufacturer will cease production of the racing car in its current version, five years after its arrival. To commemorate his departure, 350 copies of a Type S edition will be assembled by hand at the Acura plant in Ohio.

In fact, all Acura NSX 2022 will be Type S, and only 50 of them will be sold in Canada. The manufacturer has yet to reveal the technical data or the price of this edition, however, but promises that it will be even faster and more agile than a regular NSX.

So we could see an increase in power from the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine or the electric motors that make up the hybrid system of the vehicle. At the moment, the NSX is developing a combined horsepower and torque of 573 horsepower and 476 pound-feet. It would come as no surprise to see the Type S offer up to 600 horsepower as well as a slight increase in torque.

The Type S declination will also bring several improvements to the chassis, suspension and brakes. There will be a more efficient exhaust system, some aesthetic details specific to the model, as well as exclusive body colors, such as the matte gray that can be seen in the few images the manufacturer has shared.
