An “off-road” XRT version for the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

There is a real craze for pickup trucks, off-road vehicles and adventurous SUVs like the Subaru Outback Wilderness. Hyundai is also following the trend by marketing a Santa Fe a little stronger. This is the declination XRT. It will be integrated into the range in 2022.

Don’t expect a real off-road vehicle with the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT. It is purely an aesthetic set that allows it to add a little spice, like what its mechanical cousin, the Kia Sorento, offers with its X-Line version.

However, buyers of the XRT will receive a grille in matte black color with also black lower bumper moldings. However, front and rear skid plates were installed to protect the mechanical components. The door sill moldings, model-exclusive running boards, mirror caps and roof rails are all painted black. All Santa Fe XRTs will come standard with 18-inch rims, also black.

The Canadian market still uncertain

Hyundai Canada, however, did not mention anything about the marketing of the Santa Fe XRT in our market. As of this writing, only a starting price of US $ 33,485 has been announced. The manufacturer is also talking about marketing a variant of the front-wheel drive XRT south of the border.

However, our Santa Fe XRT will definitely be equipped with all-wheel drive. At the time of this writing, only one powertrain has been confirmed for this variant, the same 2.5-liter 4-cylinder found under the hood of the regular Santa Fe. It develops 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque.
