She may never have been the default selection in a segment that is full of eloquent works. The fact remains that the Aston Martin Vantage has always symbolized great stylistic refinement which – for some – excused its technical delay. The English brand is now offering it a redesign that aims to make it as competent as it is graceful.
The presentation of this Vantage, greatly inspired by the DB12, is the result of an evolutionary approach. Barely 30 mm wider, the two-seater has a significantly larger grille (38%) to increase the flow of air which allows its mechanical components to breathe and cool.

The dashboard, much more harmonious, has been completely redesigned while retaining a number of physical touches.
The same German heart
Up front we find the same 4.0L twin-turbo V8 from Mercedes-Benz. However, it has been “significantly reworked” to increase its maximum power to 656 hp, an increase of 153 hp to generate a 0-100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds. An eight-speed ZF automatic transmission also remains in place with more incisive settings.
To take advantage of this gain in power, the Vantage sees its frame solidified by means of repositioned crossmembers and the addition of various reinforcements. Its completely new adaptive suspension and electronic rear differential also intervene to reap the benefits of perfect weight distribution between the front and rear (50:50).
Many changes accompanied by promises therefore, but not a revolution for the one which remains the sporting gateway to a brand in full reinvention under the control of Quebecer Lawrence Stroll.
