Autonomy and versions of the Kia EV9 2024 subtly revealed

While the constructor Kia appears to be about to take the controls for its three-row electric SUV EV9, unveiled at the beginning of the year, information has been published discreetly. Without Kia announcing it, the information was published on the manufacturer’s Canadian public web and allow you to discover the extent of the versions, as well as their power and their respective autonomy. In addition, all the equipment is detailed.

Versions first

Four versions will be offered in Canada for the Kia EV9 2024. The least equipped is the rear-drive Wind, which has a permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated at 149 kilowatts (200 horsepower) and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is equipped with heated seats, a heated steering wheel, driving assistance systems, an eight-speaker audio system, a wireless smartphone charger and two 12. 3 inches. Here, we have seven seats.

Next comes the Land version with all-wheel drive. This essentially carries over the equipment of the Wind version, but adds silver roof rails and a twin-engine configuration. Power therefore climbs to 282 kilowatts (379 horsepower) and torque to 442 lb-ft.

The addition of the Premium package to this Land version brings several features, such as a double-panel panoramic roof, additional driving aids, cubic LED headlights, a digital grille, 19-inch rims, captain’s chairs in the center which reduce the capacity to 6 people, a massaging driver’s seat with memory and a more efficient audio system with 14 speakers.

Finally, there is the all-wheel-drive Land version with GT-Line package, which brings different styling front and rear, 21-inch wheels, a head-up display and increased torque to 516 lbs- feet thanks to a Boost function.

Expected autonomy

You should know that each of the versions sold in Canada will be equipped with the same liquid-cooled battery with a capacity of 99.8 kilowatt hours. Obviously, the rear-wheel-drive version will be the most economical, due to its single engine and 19-inch rims. By comparison, the range of the Land AWD version with the GT-Line package will be the lowest. Note that this data is estimated by Kia, calculated according to the cycle of Natural Resources Canada.

Version Autonomy Features
Propelled Wind 480km Propulsion
19 inch rims
Without roof rails
Land AWD 435km All-wheel drive
19 inch rims
Roof rails
Land with Premium Package 407km All-wheel drive
20 inch rims
Roof rails
Land with GT-Line package 391km All-wheel drive
21 inch rims
Bridge type roof rails

We already know that the recharge can reach the power of 230 kilowatts, enough to go from 10 to 80% of charge level in about 25 minutes, regardless of the version. As for vehicle performance, the all-wheel-drive versions will be able to tow 2,272 kilos (5,000 pounds), while the rear-drive Wind version will have to make do with 907 kilos (2,000 pounds). There will also be the possibility of powering accessories with V2L technology, which includes a socket inside and another outside with an adapter that installs on the charging port.

The vehicle should arrive by the end of the year at dealerships.
