Buick gives details of the refreshed 2022 Enclave
The Canadian range of Buick is now only made up of SUVs, of which the popular Still GX which has won over many consumers. The biggest of the family, the Enclave, has been with us since 2018 and has maintained a certain popularity in the market. After four years on the market, the manufacturer is making minor improvements to this second generation in order, on the one hand, to keep it afloat but also to better fit it into the manufacturer’s renewed range.
Don’t expect drastic changes; the mechanics remain essentially the same, consisting of a 3.6-liter V6 delivering 310 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 266 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm accompanied by a nine-speed automatic transmission, two elements which have proven their effectiveness.
The changes are more of an aesthetic nature, starting with the exterior of the vehicle. The front portion uses a formula popularized at GM with the Chevrolet Blazer, that is to say, lighting in two sections, the daytime running lights being placed at the top and the headlights lower in the bumper. We also reviewed the taillights and wheels offered while continuing to build on the visual distinctions of the Avenir and Sport Touring (ST) versions. They also remain popular with us.
On board, the changes are even more subtle. The electronic transmission lever was replaced with knobs – similar to those on the Buick Envision – and some materials were touched up.
However, the Buick Enclave is banking on active safety for 2022. Automatic emergency braking for vehicles and pedestrians, lane keeping with lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, tracking distance indicator and high beam headlights Automatics are all standard, as in many GM vehicles. In terms of connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless are now standard.
The 2022 Buick Enclave will arrive next fall at a base price that is yet to be announced. As an indication, the price of the 2021 Buick Enclave starts at $ 50,648, including transport and preparation.
