GM’s luxury brand has undertaken the electrification of its lineup and several new models will be introduced this year, including the Escalade IQ, OPTIQ and VISTIQ. Despite this strategy, the manufacturer continues to focus on performance with its gasoline models. Cadillac is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of its high-performance V series this year.
To mark this anniversary, the manufacturer announces the arrival of Cadillac CT5-V And CT5-V Blackwing 2025. The two cars benefit from a redesign bringing a little novelty in order to keep it competitive. The CT5-V 2025 model benefits from a new fascia and a new grille giving it a superior presence. It appears closer to the ground and its wider silhouette gives it quite an attitude. Its LED headlights feature Cadillac’s new vertical signature while the rear benefits from a new trapezoid-shaped quad exhaust.
The interior benefits from a cabin as rich as in the past, the manufacturer has added a few additional touches, notably the Cadillac logo which lights up at the back of the 33-inch LED touch screen. The latter is at the heart of the techno effect of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V.
On the engine side, the CT5-V still benefits from a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder supercharged engine developing 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. The 10-speed automatic transmission is included as standard while all-wheel drive is available.
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
At the top of the range, we still find the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, it benefits from the same aesthetic changes, which reinforces its character. A carbon fiber assembly makes it lighter and brings an additional touch of sportiness to the model. Three new body colors are offered Drift Metallic, Deep Space Metallic And Typhoon Metallic.
Under its hood, we once again find the 6.2-liter V8 engine which develops an impressive power of 668 horsepower for a torque of 659 pound-feet. This time, a 6-speed manual gearbox is offered, otherwise the 6-speed automatic is in the catalog.
We may believe that Cadillac’s SUVs are the best-selling, but it is in fact the CT5 sedan that generates the greatest sales volume for the brand globally. In Canada, the CT5 V range experienced its best sales level in 2023, the Blackwing livery saw an increase in sales of around 23% in the country.
Both vehicles are assembled at the GM plant located in Lansing, Michigan, with production starting in the summer of 2024. Prices will be revealed later.
