The Chevrolet Equinox EV is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated vehicles by many consumers. Initially announced at an attractive price, this SUV offers two types of wheels; the craze will certainly be there. While this newcomer to the electric SUV landscape is still awaited, today we are learning some additional official details including the price, the opening date for orders and the expected range.
Versions equipped with traction gear first
The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be offered in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. For the moment, the American manufacturer has only confirmed in its press release the price range of models equipped with front-wheel drive for the Canadian market. What is the price of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV? Here they are:
Releases | MSRP, including freight and PDI |

3RS FWD | $55,698 |
According to information provided by Chevrolet Canada, consumers will be able to place an order at their EV-certified Chevrolet dealership for one of the four versions shown in the table above as early as February 22, 2024. Arrival at the dealership is only expected ‘in mid-2024. The manufacturer also confirms that all versions will qualify for the incentives offered by both levels of government here.
In terms of range, the front-wheel drive versions will have a range of around 513 kilometers on a full charge in the best conditions, according to Chevrolet Canada.
Where are the other versions?
As of this writing, Chevrolet mentions that the 1LT FWD version of the Equinox EV will be offered later this year, with pricing to be announced along the way.
As for the full versions, the press release confirms that they will benefit from a range of 459 kilometers, always in the best conditions. There is therefore no official mention either for the price range or for the arrival date of the eAWD versions. However, some information circulating on the web in recent days suggests that you will have to pay $3,500 more to obtain an eAWD version. This information would be provided by employees of Canadian dealerships.
Far from the $37,699 initially announced
For the moment, it is true that the price of the entry-level 1LT FWD version has not yet been officially announced. However, we have reason to doubt that this attractive price will remain, judging by the price of the 2LT FWD version located at $51,498.
For comparison, the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 starts in the same price range, at $51,210, while the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 has a higher starting price of $57,666. The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will therefore be offered at a higher price, contrary to what many hoped, according to the entry-level price initially announced. However, the official price range is on par with the competition.
