Chrysler wants to bring a car back to its portfolio
We learned a few days ago that the last Chrysler 300 had been officially produced. This means that retirement had indeed arrived for this sedan which, despite a long journey at the end, left its mark on the world of automobiles. This news also meant that Chrysler would now only offer one product in its catalog, the Pacifica/Grand Caravan.
The American company has already had dozens of vehicles in its portfolio, is it slowly disappearing? According to Christine Feuell, general director of Chrysler, no way. On the contrary, Chrysler plans to come back in force with a range of automobiles filled with electric SUVs, vans and cars.
An upcoming car and SUV
Car enthusiasts, don’t get too desperate, despite the disappearance of the Chrysler 300, the company intends to return to the segment sooner rather than later. Although very few details are publicly revealed, the CEO reiterated that the company still believes in cars. Chrysler has not yet made it official, but Christine Feuell lets us understand that the manufacturer will reveal that a car is in the plans soon.
It is too early to know if the latter will be electric, gasoline, hybrid or a mixture of all its possibilities. On the other hand, we can confirm that the brand’s first electric vehicle will be of the SUV type. Announced more than a month ago, Chrysler plans to unveil its new flagship product in 2024 for a market launch in 2025.
This will be greatly inspired by the Airflow concept presented in 2020 and 2022, but will not be exactly the same. However, it will be assembled on the STLA Large platform which could offer an electrical architecture at 400 and 800 volts. According to the manufacturer, combined with high-performance batteries, vehicles assembled on this platform will be able to travel up to 600 kilometers on a full charge.
Harmony in motion
Chrysler will experience a series of major changes in the coming years, at least that’s what we understand. The company plans to reevaluate the purchasing process for its products both online and in dealerships. After-sales service is even part of the major changes that the manufacturer is trying to review.
In terms of strategy, Chrysler is also aiming to adopt a new philosophy nicknamed “Harmony in Motion”. The General Director explained that all of the brand’s future products will be designed with this ideology. Style, efficiency, inspiration and value will be at the heart of the company’s future decisions.
Moreover, Christine Fuell has already mentioned that she wanted Chrysler to become Stellantis’ “entry-level brand” by offering affordable prices. There are still several questions about the direction the company plans to take in the coming years, but Christine Feuell confirms that 2024 will be a year of big announcements.
