Competition from the Audi Q4 e-tron

Expectations are high for Audi’s Q4 e-tron. But, already, the GV60 from Genesis, the XC40 Recharge from Volvo and, above all, the Model Y from Tesla are arousing envy.

Genesis GV60

Price: from $71,000

The Genesis GV60 shares the same technical architecture as the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. Unlike the latter, however, the GV60 retains the services of two electric motors to drive all of its wheels. Like the Q4 e-tron. More expensive to acquire, the Genesis has the advantage of offering a more impressive list of standard features than the Q4 e-tron and greater energy efficiency.

Tesla Model Y

Price: from $85,000

The reference. The Model Y is in a way a more functional Model 3 thanks to the addition of an opening tailgate. More expensive than the Q4 e-tron, the Model Y is nonetheless competitive. Compared to the Audi, the Tesla has better autonomy, much sharper acceleration and even more impressive charging capacity. However, compared to the Q4 e-tron, the Model Y still doesn’t offer such polished build quality or such painstaking attention to detail.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

Price: from $64,950

Volvo XC40 Recharge

The malleability of Volvo’s CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) architecture makes it possible to accommodate several types of thrusters and the Recharge version of the XC40 (also offered with petrol engines) is proof of this. In its electric configuration, the XC40 has the advantage of relying on four-wheel drive and an engine producing the equivalent of 402 horsepower. Even faster than the Audi, this Volvo cannot however tow such a heavy load and run for as long (autonomy of 334 km).
