Competition from the Audi Q6 e-Tron (prototype)

Here are three competing models of the Audi Q6 e-Tron: the BMW iX, Cadillac Lyriq and Jaguar I-Pace.

BMW iX

Price: starting at $84,869.70

Except for the hypertrophied grille, the iX looks nothing like the BMWs of yesteryear. Therefore, it is necessary to allow a certain period of adaptation before locating and mastering the controls and accessories. From this point of view, the Audi is less confusing. BMW offers an entry-level model (40), but it is the versions (50 and 60) that will best measure themselves against the Q6 e-Tron. For those who like to drive, the BMW offers a more stimulating drive than that of the Audi, which tends to isolate us too much from the road.

The Cadillac Lyriq

Price: starting at $69,825

The Lyriq has an architecture that is just as modern as the Audi. The Cadillac offers a very capable semi-autonomous driving system and, we presume, will have a more reasonable starting price. You should know, however, that Cadillac offers a two-wheel drive (propulsion) version. To compare the Lyriq to the Q6 e-Tron, it is better to look at the AWD version, with the total power of the two engines (500 hp) and the presumed range (494 km).

Jaguar I-Pace

The Jaguar I-Pace

Price: from $110,140

Even after all these years, the plastic of Jaguar’s I-Pace hasn’t aged a bit. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said on a technical level. Jaguar’s I-Pace fails to cross the 400 km mark (395.8 km, according to the EPA), even with 20-inch tires. Being the dean of the category does not excuse everything. We cannot turn a blind eye to the asking price nor to the absence of significant developments to improve its efficiency.
