Polestar gives the green light to its electric convertible

Volvo’s high-performance brand Polestar has announced plans to produce an electric convertible that was unveiled earlier this year as a styling study.

This new model will be named Polestar 6 to respect the numerical designations of the various creations of the Swedish manufacturer.

Featuring a particularly evocative design and based on a derivative of the aluminum chassis of the Polestar 5 sedan, it will be entitled to a 2 + 2 type cabin configuration. This will ensure greater flexibility. With Mini possibly producing an electric convertible model and the ever-awaited Tesla Roadster, the Polestar 6 will be one of the few electric convertible cars.

To support its sleek lines, the Polestar 6 will also have a whole strike force in reserve. Its mechanics will consist of a duo of electric motors that will produce 884 hp in total. As is customary with this type of configuration, all-wheel drive is used for traction. Polestar also estimates the 0-100 km / in just 3.2 s.

However, you will have to be patient. The Polestar 6 will not enter production until 2026. In the meantime, the portrait of the production livery will certainly become clearer.
