Electric mid-size SUV | Cadillac unveils the Vistiq in its final form

Nearly a year after publishing the first official photos of the model, Cadillac has lifted the veil on the production livery of the Vistiq electric mid-size SUV. Its arrival completes the luxury brand's quartet of electric SUVs made up of the Escalade IQ, the Lyriq and soon the Optiq.

Counting on a wheelbase of 3094 mm and a length of 5222 mm, this newcomer is 18 cm longer than the XT6, the one which is in some way its thermal engine counterpart. The two cousins also share a similar aesthetic approach that leans significantly more towards crossovers than traditional SUVs with their profiled roofline.

The comparison, however, stops at this single fact, because the Vistiq uses a much more vigorous striking force to convince customers. Its two electric motors – one in the front and another in the rear – together produce 615 hp and a total torque of 650 lb-ft. This allows 0-97 km/h in 3.7 seconds. However, it is the autonomy variable – drawn from a 102 kWh battery – which is significantly more important. Estimated at 483 km, it is 43 km behind that of the production Tesla Model

Regarding the technological aspect of the Vistiq, let us highlight the use of a huge screen with a diagonal of 33 inches which projects driving data and the multimedia system without separation. Its 9K resolution promises excellent image definition. An optional night vision system also adds a layer of safety when driving at night and the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system is available for a subscription. The Cadillac Vistiq will go on sale from next summer at a price that has not yet been specified.
