Electric range of 52 km for the Kia Sorento PHEV 2022
Kia will launch in 2022 a version plug-in hybrid of its popular mid-size SUV Sorento. According to the manufacturer, thanks to the 13.8 kilowatt battery, the vehicle will be able to travel up to 52 kilometers in electric mode.

A fourth engine
With the arrival of the PHEV engine, the Kia Sorento will count for 2022 in Canada no less than 4 mechanical choices. This allows the combined power to drop from 226 to 261 horsepower, while the torque remains the same at 195 pound-feet. The traditional 6-speed automatic transmission is still part of the equation. We also count on the contribution of an all-wheel drive, a torque vector and a locking central differential.
Eligible for government discounts
The Kia Sorento PHEV incorporates a 13.8 kilowatt-hour battery that allows a range, according to Kia, of 52 kilometers. Being below the 15 kilowatt-hour mark, the Sorento PHEV will be eligible for government rebates totaling $ 6,500, ie $ 2,500 from the federal level and $ 4,000 from the Quebec provincial level. At the moment, we do not yet know the selling price of Sorento PHEV in Canada. To benefit from these discounts, it will obviously have to meet the price criteria of less than $ 55,000 (7-seater vehicle) for the federal government and less than $ 60,000 for the provincial.
