Entry price for 2024 Hyundai Palisade jumps $6,700

Clearly, the year 2024 in the automotive world will not favor consumers who have a reduced budget. On the one hand, there are fewer affordable vehicles each year, and on the other, many manufacturers are focusing on more expensive versions of some of their models, for several reasons. As we enter 2024, new vehicles are added to this list, including the Hyundai Palisade.

A higher entry price

By browsing the website of Hyundai Canada, we were able to see the changes between the 2023 and 2024 model years in the case of the Palisade. In 2023, the 3-row SUV from the South Korean manufacturer was available in 3 versions: Preferred, Urban and Calligraphy. In 2024, with the withdrawal of the entry-level version, only the Urban and Calligraphy versions remain on the menu. This change has a direct impact on the entry price of the Hyundai Palisade, which increases to $57,421, including freight and delivery charges. Compared to the 2023 model year, the starting price of the 2024 is now $6,700 higher.

In addition to this change, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade retains the same mechanical assets that we know. Under the hood we find the 3.8-liter V6 engine which develops 291 horsepower and produces 262 pound-feet of torque. This mechanism is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as well as standard all-wheel drive. In terms of seating configuration, the Palisade offers space for 8 occupants as standard, but it is also possible to opt for a 7-seat configuration as an option.

The arrival of the 2024 Santa Fe to save the furniture?

We already know that the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will enter the market later this year. This new generation also makes a return to a configuration with 3 rows of seats. Consumers who are therefore looking for a vehicle that offers more seating will probably be able to turn to the 2024 Santa Fe which may be more affordable than its big brother, the Palisade. However, at the time of writing, the price range of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is not yet known, but we do know that it will be offered as standard with 7 seats or 6 as an option.

Everything suggests that Hyundai is in the process of repositioning its SUV range, which has seen good growth over the years. The fact remains that, regardless of the model, prices are on the rise everywhere, and consumers will likely spend more time shopping before making a final choice in 2024.
