Ford F-150 Lightning Flash 2024: a new version that represents the happy medium

Ford continues to expand the range of F-150 Lightning while reducing its price scale. For 2024, a brand new version called Flash will be added. According to the manufacturer, it will represent the golden middle of the range. Here are all the details.

Standard heat pump

The big news for the Flash, and undoubtedly for all 2024 F-150 Lightnings (to be confirmed with Ford of Canada), it is the integration of a heat pump as standard equipment. Remember that during winter conditions, such technology allows the electric vehicle to better preserve its autonomy.

The Flash is something of a hybrid between an XLT and a Lariat, integrating the components of each without blowing up the bill too much. Ford of Canada has not yet confirmed its price, but if we rely on information from the manufacturer south of the border, it would bridge the gap between an XLT Standard Range (98 kilowatt-hour battery) and an XLT Extended Range (battery of 131 kilowatt hours). Let’s take the time to point out that there is currently a gap of $16,000 between these two versions. This is the perfect opportunity to add another variation.

The elements of a Lariat, without the invoice

What’s interesting about the Flash is that it is powered by the Lariat’s 131 kilowatt-hour battery and 15.5-inch multimedia screen, without necessarily being overloaded with accessories. This would allow it, according to what we can see in the United States, to display a much more attractive price (US$69,995).

At the time of writing, we were still awaiting a response from Ford of Canada public relations regarding our market. Everything we could see on the Canadian media site of the manufacturer was just a single image of the Flash with no information attached. The manufacturer could simply be on the verge of determining prices for our market. We will update this article as soon as we receive a response from Ford.
