After returning to marketing in 2017, the Ford GTthe emblematic sports car of the American manufacturer assembled by the Canadian firm Multimatic, is about to disappear from the market again.
To celebrate the event, Ford will market an ultimate special edition. The 2022 Ford GT LM will only be offered in 20 copies, which will undoubtedly ensure its exclusivity. This special edition pays homage in name, heart and spirit to Ford’s winning cars in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans series. It will be remembered that Ford had won the first three positions in the 1966 race.
The 2022 Ford GT LM is therefore inspired by the model that won the 2016 race, the number 68 Ford GT driven by Sebastien Bourdais of France, Joey Hand of the United States and Dirk Müller of Germany. Its body is painted in titanium gray (Liquid Silver) including many carbon fiber components dyed red or blue depending on the choice of the buyer. The car is also equipped with exclusive 20-inch rims, Brembo brake calipers painted in high-gloss black and a titanium exhaust with a cyclonic design printed using 3D technology. Under the hood, the car benefits, of course, from the twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost engine developing an impressive 660 horsepower.
The interior of the 2022 Ford GT LM features unique Alcantara seats that pick up the exterior color and details. The dashboard is also adorned with several carbon fiber components, while brown leather covers part of the dashboard. Several GT LM emblems also printed in 3D are affixed to the interior and exterior.
The price of this exclusive edition has not been revealed, but rumors mention that it could be sold at a premium price of $500,000 over the regular GT. It’s a safe bet that the model will quickly increase in value as is the case with the j versions. Deliveries of the 2022 Ford GT LM are expected to begin this fall and end in early 2023.
