Genesis unveils an off-road concept of its GV70

The Genesis GV70 is a luxury compact SUV that stands out quite well in the automobile world. With its distinctive style, the GV70 is the most popular vehicle in the manufacturer’s range. The South Korean brand is continuing its efforts to continue its rise and unveils a prototype of the Genesis GV70 focused on off-road, a first for the manufacturer.

All-terrain and refined

Some rumors suggest that a future generation of the GV70 is expected soon. Before taking the plunge, the manufacturer decided to partner with Deltaa company specializing in the off-road world, to build the ultimate version of its compact luxury SUV.

The vehicle, which bears the name GV70 Overland Project, is a prototype that, according to Delta, transforms the SUV into a much more capable machine on the trails. Without making major changes to the chassis, Delta explains that it had fun celebrating its 40th anniversary.

The modifier increased the height of the vehicle; it now sits two inches higher off the ground than the regular version. It’s also wider thanks to a set of black 18-inch Classic B Rugged wheels fitted with off-road-focused Continental ATR tires.

In visual terms, a set of additional PIAA lights mounted on the roof as well as Baja-style lights integrated into the grille, further improve the look and efficiency of the off-roader according to Delta. For those who want to have a lot of options and transport equipment, the GV70 Overland Project is equipped with a specially designed roof rack that offers secure attachment points.

Otherwise, it remains unchanged and retains its luxurious and pleasant side. Moreover, Delta adds that the Genesis GV70 Project Overland is a rather capable, but above all very comfortable, off-road SUV.

An update coming?

Coming back to the GV7O update, an announcement should be made shortly regarding this claim. Rumors mention that the SUV would be entitled to a refreshed front end, new headlights and a revised grille. The interior could possibly receive some aesthetic updates similar to the recently launched GV80 Coupé.

The GV70 could receive the new 27-inch OLED curved screen added to the GV80. Nothing indicates that the engines will be reworked, but we will have to wait for the official announcement from Genesis to validate this information.

Enthusiasts and the curious with a desire to travel are invited to experience the GV70 Project Overland at the Essen Motor Show, Germany, from 1er to December 10. Interestingly, you can find the concept on display at the Continental booth.
