Hennessey increases the power of C8 corvettes by 44%

It is at the beginning of the year that Chevy presented the very first Corvette equipped with a hybridization system. The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray turns the history of this automotive icon upside down by integrating an electric motor into the vehicle’s hardware. To this end, several motorists seem convinced that this recipe will be a winner, while others shout their allegiance to exclusively thermal versions of the Corvette. It is precisely for these combustion engine enthusiasts that Hennessey has created a set of modifications called H700 exclusive to the Corvette C8 allowing the car to reach 708 horsepower.

A performance kit

Hennessey engineers made a series of modifications to the mechanics of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This version of the Chevrolet Corvette features GM’s LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine. It is also only on this engine that the performance kit can be installed.

To start, a high-flow centrifugal supercharger, an air induction system featuring an air-to-water intercooler and an upgraded “cat-back” exhaust were installed. A video published by Hennessey allows us to hear the deep sound of the reworked mechanics, an auditory pleasure for all car enthusiasts:

Secondly, the modification specialists reworked the engine software of the C8. With the modifications, the Corvette increases its horsepower by 44% and its torque by 37%, which means that with the H700 package, the C8 equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine develops 708 horsepower and produces a torque of 638 lb-ft. That’s 38 horsepower and 178 lb-ft more than the Z06 version of the C8, the most powerful in the catalog.
