Honda | The 2023 Civic Type R makes its first outing in a camouflage suit
A few days after a first taste of the Acura Integra, it is now the turn of the next Honda Civic Type R to undergo this treatment intended to gradually increase the enthusiasm around its announced launch for the ‘next year.
In his case, however, the photos are much more informative on the form that this second generation of the Type R offered in North America will take. Still built around a hatchback body, it seems to want to adopt a more mature posture, much closer to the production version than its predecessor, with a smaller rear spoiler. That said, we obviously cannot see the content of the nuances in the aesthetic treatment, the camouflage suit cleverly hiding them.
We also know that this Type R can always be driven in concert with a manual gearbox. Moreover, the mechanics that will animate it is still the subject of rumors, one of which, more realistic, reports an evolution of the current engine, a turbocharged 2 L four-cylinder, which receives a few horses in passing.
The scenario of an all-wheel-drive hybrid version inspired by the Acura NSX seems much less likely to maintain its relative affordability, but you never know. To be continued.
