hyundai | The sporty Ioniq 5 N makes its first public release
Hyundai has chosen the Goodwood Festival of Speed, no less than an unmissable event for high-performance vehicles, to unveil the new N livery of its Ioniq 5 electric SUV. In order to justify its entry ticket, the improvements made to this version go far beyond the aesthetic aspect of the object.
The figure that we immediately remember is the total power produced by the two electric motors placed on the two axles of the vehicle. At 601 hp, an account that can briefly climb to 641 hp, the SUV is able to generate a 0-100 km/h in 3.4 s, allowing it to be close to many serious sports cars. Energy is drawn from a new 84 kWh battery. Autonomy has not been published yet.
Beyond this raw power that will make the headlines, Hyundai has also focused on its behavior to seduce an audience of enthusiasts. Among other things, the vehicle is equipped with an electronic rear differential with 11 levels of adjustment in addition to dynamic damping, the hardware of which has been enlarged, and various improvements to ensure greater rigidity of the chassis. Attention has also been paid to the thermal management of the motors and the battery with independent radiators for oil and coolant to ensure smooth track sessions.
This Ioniq 5 N will also be able to simulate gear changes inspired by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as well as the sound of a combustion engine in exercise. Hyundai thus wishes to coax driving enthusiasts burned by the electric transition.
