Lamborghini Countach reborn for its 50th anniversary
While everyone believed that the last variation on the Aventador would be the Ultimae unveiled a few weeks ago, Lamborghini kept one last surprise, of size this one, with the presentation at Pebble Beach of the resurrection in 112 copies. of the Countach LPi 800-4.
It was in Geneva, in 1971, that Lamborghini presented the very first concept that will give birth, three years later, to the Countach. Launched in 1974 and produced until 1990, the Countach quickly became one of the most iconic Lamborghinis in history. It is also one of the symbols of the 1980s and, above all, the racing car that has certainly been found most often displayed on the walls of the bedrooms of countless people.

112, not one more
To mark the 50th anniversary of the presentation of the Countach, Lamborghini revisits its classic with a production limited to only 112 units of the Countach LPi 800-4. Why 112? It is part of the car development code name.
A collection of references
For this new version, it’s all about celebrating the design and style of the different versions of the Countach over time. Of course, the general shape of modern Lamborghinis draws its inspiration even from the lines made by the legendary Gandini, then under Bertone. At the front, the affiliation goes in 1985 with the rectangular optical units of the LP5000 QV. Fortunately, we only keep one pair and, above all, we escape from the front wing forced at the time to meet the safety rules.
Hence the legend
In profile, it is just as strong especially with the doors in elytron, the large triangular air intakes painted in black as well as the angular shape of the arches of wheels. On the roof, although the concept does not go to the end, there is a reference to the “periscopio” from 1978 with a black applique. The only disappointment, the stylists did not revisit the 5-round rims which largely defined the style of the Countach.
2 times 25 years
At the rear, the lighting elements of the Sian are fully recovered; however, the three components are integrated into a hollow structure that is shaped like the lights of the Countach. The exhaust pipes are found in the center of a black applique which once again makes a connection with the last version of the car at the end of the 1980s, more precisely the 25 edition.e anniversary of 1988. To ensure lightness, the body as a whole is made of carbon fiber.
The heart of Sian
Under this spectacular bodywork, we discover the full engine of the Sian 37 FKP. It is a 6.5-liter V12 with 48-volt electric assistance. The heat engine gives 769 horsepower while the electric gives it an additional 34 horsepower. At the count, the cavalry reached 803 horses. Like all cars based on the Aventador, we get an all-wheel drive which allows better performance. This version comes with a robotic 7-speed automatic transmission.
Always so fast
In terms of performance, Lamborghini announces a 0 to 100 km / hour in just 2.8 seconds and a 0 to 200 km / hour in 8.5 seconds. The car peaks at some 355 kilometers per hour. The production of the Lamborghini Countach LPi 800-4 will begin at the beginning of the year 2022. Needless to say that the 112 units have already found a buyer, and that the manufacturer is careful not to mention the price. One can easily assume that it exceeds the 3.4 million dollars of the Sian 37 FKP.
