Lamborghini Countach | The car destroyed in The Wolf of Wall Street put up for auction

Anyone who has watched Martin Scorsese’s excellent feature film The Wolf of Wall Street remembers the hilarious and chaotic scene where fallen broker Jordan Belfort – played by Leonardo DiCaprio – destroys a white 1989 Lamborghini Countach. To add a touch of realism, the production team chose to use a real Countach and it will soon be put up for auction.

Preserved in the condition it was damaged during the making of the 2013 film, this is one of 658 copies produced of Edition 25e anniversary of the iconic supercar, specifies the Bonhams house which will officiate its sale. This is one of two Countachs used during filming. The other, seen barely 16 seconds into the final edit, was not damaged.

Bonhams estimates that the stake could reach between 1.5 million and 2 million US dollars. Not bad for a car in such poor condition. The auction will be held as part of the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix on November 25.
