Lamborghini | Here is the hot Temerario, hybrid replacement for the Huracán

Temerario. Remember this name, which means “daring” in Italian, because it announces a new model at the forefront of the Lamborghini manufacturer. Replacing the influential and popular Huracán, which recently bowed out after 10 years of service, this creation rekindles hostilities with Ferrari by adopting a similar technical posture.

The naturally aspirated V10 of the predecessor, which has earned praise during its long career of more than 20 years, leaves the rear mid-engine bay to make way for an all-new twin-turbo V8. It has 4 litres of displacement to express itself, as well as flat-plane crankpins for its high rotation speed and two turbochargers to boost the power. It produces 789 hp on its own and can reach a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm, which is worthy of a racing car.

But since this is a hybrid unit, two 147 hp electric motors are added to the equation at the front to allow for greater traction. Total output thus reaches 907 hp when the whole unit works in unison. A third starter/alternator can also inject torque on occasion. A new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission tames it all to produce a 0-100 km/h time of 2.7 seconds, up to a top speed of 340 km/h.

On the other hand, its small 3.8 kWh battery can be recharged using a domestic plug for a handful of electric kilometers. The manufacturer has not specified this data.

This Temerario also receives the contribution of a completely new platform – called space frame – more resistant to torsion and whose wheelbase has been increased by 38 mm and the length increased by 139 mm compared to the Huracán. The reconfiguration of its chassis also makes the passenger compartment much more spacious. Lamborghini estimates that a driver measuring 2 my is comfortable even when putting on a helmet. More versatile, therefore, but even more angry too.
