Land Rover underlines “No Time to Die” with Defender Bond Edition
Land Rover pushes further its association with the films of the series James bond by unveiling a special Bond edition on the Defender. Offered in 90 or 110 series, only 300 units will be produced and all with V8 engines.
Due to COVID-19, the release of the James Bond series film, “No Time To Die,” has been postponed twice. The wait is now coming to an end with the announcement of the world premiere on September 30th. In North America, we will have to wait until October 8. Taking advantage of the frenzy of fans of the world’s most famous secret agent, Land Rover celebrates its 38-year partnership with the franchise by unveiling a Bond special edition on the Defender.

Like the villains
Recognizable among all, the Defender adopts full black for this limited series of only 300 copies. According to the manufacturer, this choice was made according to the appearance that the different Defenders will have in the film. As is usually the case, there is no doubt that the Defender drivers in “No Time To Die” will be the villains.
90 or 110
This Bond Edition will be available in two body configurations, either 3-door (90) or 4-door (110). We find the 22-inch rims painted in black as well as xenon blue accents in the calipers. On the side of the trunk, there is also a “Defender 007” wall light. The reception is done with a 007 projection on the ground and the illumination of the door sills.
Some details in the interior
In the passenger compartment, there are not many changes. On the dashboard, there is an “SV Bespoke One of 300” wall light which marks the product’s uniqueness. On start-up, the navigation system does a special Bond-themed presentation, reminding us that we’re in a limited-series Defender.
The V8, nothing else
Technically, Land Rover wants to put the power of the Defender at the forefront. Only one engine will be available, the 5.0-liter V8 which produces 518 horsepower and torque 460 lb-ft. According to Land Rover, with this mechanic, the Defender 90 goes from 0 to 100 km / hour in 5.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 240 km / hour.
In Canada ?
The Bond Special Edition will cross the Atlantic, at least to reach the shores of the United States. However, we still do not know how many copies are planned for North America and if there will be a certain number on the Canadian market.
