Did you know that Mercedes-Benz still offers an undercompromising sedan? In the light of the 2037 copies of the CLA sold in the country in 2024, it is a safe bet that this model is completely unknown to you. To stimulate the interest of a clientele attempted by the electric, the manufacturer has unveiled an electrified new generation of the model.
Taking Rome as a backdrop, this recently made unveil exposes Mercedes-Benz's desire to sharpen a more or less competitive electric range by starting the exercise by the base. Beyond the rejuvenation which weaves a luminous line between the headlights and the rear lights, the body remains familiar.

Barely longer (+35 mm), wider (+25 mm) and larger (+29 mm) than its predecessor, it adds a 100 l front cover to fill the loss of 55 l of the rear trunk (405 l). She also finds the air, with a draft coefficient of 0.21.

But most of the work is obviously not visible to the naked eye. An 85 kWh battery is bolted on a whole new chassis and connected to an architecture of 800 V. The maximum charging power is thus at 320 kW, which limits 22 minutes the time spent at an ultra -fast terminal to go from 10 to 80 %. Two mechanical configurations are on the menu: one with 268 hp propulsion, the other 349 hp integral ordeal. A light hybrid version is also in the boxes for later. In addition to the use of a new four-cylinder and a 48 V system, the technical data has not been revealed.
To care for efficiency at highway speed, a two-speed transmission is placed at the rear, an approach among others used by the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. Maximum autonomy is tutoring the 792 km in propulsion version, while that with an additional engine can theoretically reach 771 km, all this in European cycle (WLTP).
This CLA also introduces a multimedia system completely internally designed and named Mercedes-Benz Operating System. This obviously employs remote updates, but also manages active safety systems, chassis and recharge for more adaptability. Artificial intelligence is also integrated into it as much by Google as Microsoft, a first for the manufacturer. The Mercedes-Benz CLA electric will arrive at the end of the year.
