Mercedes-Benz will phase out coupes and wagons

With the avowed aim of making its financial picture brighter, Mercedes-Benz will abandon many coupes and wagons in the coming years. At least that’s what the magazine claims. Car and Driverciting a source working for the German brand.

Of the 33 body types currently offered, just 14 are expected to survive this reform intended to boost profit margins and increase Mercedes-Benz’s footprint in key segments.

Among the noteworthy role models who will eventually leave the family according to Car and Driver, include the C-Class and E-Class coupes and convertibles that will be scrapped in 2023 or 2024, as well as the AMG GT and CLS sedan-coupes. In the station wagon department, only the E-Class All-Terrain is currently offered in Canada. His departure should therefore not cause much noise. One thing is certain, this forced homogenization will make the automotive landscape a little duller.
